Unicef-HQ-1

We brought energy and life into an outmoded UNICEF office, coalescing the organization’s mission directives with its interior spaces. The comfort and familiarity of the UNICEF headquarters were retained with a fresh take on colors and new materials to create a vibrant atmosphere.

The existing reception was was revamped into a welcoming and modern space. Custom-designed wooden furniture with subtle, earthy fabrics created a positive effect.  We introduced white accents, balanced with natural and white light effects to add a touch of class and warmth.

The show-stopper installation at the reception was created with 3 layers of printed glass slabs. Rigid and heavy wooden doors were replaced by sleek glass and aluminum systems for greater transparency and an open feel. Colorful accents on the wall were introduced. We changed the cabin system to open-office layouts and introduced noise cancellation devices and materials that could absorb sound.

Alongside the open systems which made the space bright and airy, a modular system was developed to showcase the various Rights of Children at the lobby landings of the facility. The system allows the client to update/replace the units and thus refresh the look periodically.

The cafeteria was transformed into a space with improved layout, acoustics, aesthetics, colours and furniture. A vibrant tree of life installation on the wall livens up the space. Apart from this, the acoustic ceiling helps reduce clutter and overall noise levels. What was merely a place for lunch earlier became a favorite breakout space for the staff.

We took the opportunity to turn the window of the stairwell into something extraordinary. The beehive pattern along the staircase was an just an ordinary grill, until we came along. Each of the slots were carefully fitted with colored glass, cut to size at site, and fixed with great precision by skilled labour.

The entire facility - right down to the basement, corridors, conference room, library and office spaces - was transformed by a holistic treatment of interior design, graphics and material treatment. The branding of the spaces in this immersive fashion made the UNICEF headquarters in Delhi a functional and vibrant space.
